ONYX FALL RETREAT
October 22-24, 2021



​Onyx House and the College-Age ministry of Eugene Faith Center will host their annual Fall Retreat at Sky Camp on Fall Creek Reservoir, October 22-24, 2021. This is a time for college-age (18-25ish) young adults to gather together for a weekend of worship, teaching, great food and lots of fun. This year, A.J. and Quinn Swoboda will be teaching at the retreat. We will depart right after Friday night service at Onyx (around 8:00pm) and return around noon on Sunday. The cost is $65/person.​

SCHEDULE
Friday, 10/22/21
  • 7:00 pm - Meet at Onyx House (1850 Onyx Street) for Session #1 with Onyx worship team & teaching by A.J. Swoboda
  • 8:15 pm - Load up vans & cars and drive up to Sky Camp immediately following the service
  • 9:15 pm - Find your cabins then meet in the lodge for snacks and group activity

Saturday, 10/23/21
  • 9:00 am - Breakfast available in the lodge (coffee will be ready at 8 for early risers)
  • 10:30 am - Session #2 in the lodge with Onyx worship team & teaching by Quinn Swoboda
  • 11:30 am - Small group discussions/reflection
  • 12:15 pm - Break (we'll get the Duck game on for those who want to watch it) 
  • 1:00 pm - Lunch in the lodge
  • 1:30 pm - Free time (watch the game, study, games, crafts, outdoor activities)
  • 6:30 pm - Dinner in the lodge
  • 7:30 pm - Session #3 in the lodge with Onyx worship team & teaching by A.J. Swoboda
  • 9:00 pm - Group games, dance party, snacks

Sunday, 10/24/21
  • 8:00 am - Breakfast available in the lodge (come any time before 10:00 to eat)
  • 10:00 am - Acoustic worship, prayer, and communion
  • 10:45 am - Clean up, load up vans & cars
  • 11:30 am - Depart Sky Camp - back to Onyx by 1:00 pm​

A. J. Swoboda

Dr. A. J. Swoboda (PhD, Birmingham) is a pastor, professor, and writer.  For nearly ten years, he served as a college pastor on the campus of the University of Oregon. Then, for another decade, planted and pastored a church in Portland, called Theophilus. Currently, he is the Assistant Professor of Bible, theology, and world Christianity at Bushnell University. He is the author of many books, including After Doubt (Brazos). He loves Jesus deeply, has been married to Quinn for eighteen years, and is the proud father of one son, Elliot.
